Upper Valley NH/VT Passport to Winter Fun is designed to encourage elementary school-aged children and their families to become more active outdoors during the winter months. Though intended primarily for children, the first run of the passport was utilized mostly by adults. During this initial year they learned that using graphics, pictures, and child-friendly design was the best way to engage children.  (more)

Active Living by Design is a national program of the Robert Wood Johnson Foundation and is a part of the North Carolina Institute for Public Health at the UNC School of Public Health in Chapel Hill, North Carolina. This program establishes innovative approaches to increase physical activity through community design, public policies and communications strategies.

Active Living by Design is funding 25 community partnerships across the country to demonstrate how changing community design will impact physical activity
